Obituary

Mary Alice Pence, age 90 of Seguin, passed away on February 9, 2009. Visitation will begin at Tres Hewell Mortuary on Wednesday, February 11, 2009 at 12:00 p.m. with the family receiving friends from 4 to 6p.m. Funeral service will be conducted on Thursday, February 12, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at Tres Hewell Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Jeremy Roy and Rev. Neil Kibbe officiating. Interment will follow in San Geronimo Cemetery. Mary Alice was born on February 6, 1919 in Houston, Texas to Arthur R. and Ethel Jane Casey Miller. Mary Alice was actively involved in the the Children's Bus Ministry of First Baptist Church in Seguin. She and her husband, Leroy Pence, traveled to Brazil on seven mission trips to build churches. She is preceded in death by her husband, parents and brothers, Darrel, Marvin, and Gavin Miller. Survivors include her nephews, Ronnie Miller and wife, Roxane, Emmit Miller and wife, Joann, Harold Clyde Miller and wife, Colleen and Jerry Miller and wife, Bertha; nieces, Margaret Keyworth and husband, Bobby and Brenda Hallmark and husband, Mike; numerous other family members and loving friends. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Clifton Bading, Raymond Schubert, Ralph Shanafelt, Curtis Jackson, David Arnold, Charles Hoermann and Ronnie Humphrey. Pallbearers will be Emmit Miller, Harold Clyde Miller, Buddy Roy, Ernest Laird, Forrest Mims, Bob Whitener, Ken Mangum and Calvin Salmon. Memorial contributions may be made to Hope Hospice, 611 N. Walnut Ave., New Braunfels, Texas, 78130.
