Mary Jo Simpson Matthies, age 78 of Kingsbury, passed away on December 16, 2014. Visitation will be held on Friday, December 19, 2014 at Tres Hewell Mortuary from 5 to 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 20, 2014 at 10 a.m. at Tres Hewell Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Jim Price officiating. Interment will follow in the Kingsbury Cemetery. Mary Jo was born on September 21, 1936 in Laredo Texas to Merton E. and Jo (Moore) Simpson. She is preceded in death by her son, Clifton Matthies, Jr., her parents, her brothers, James B. Simpson and William B. Simpson, and her brothers-in-law, C.H. (Pokey) Matthies, Jr. and Harold Schmidt. Survivors include her loving husband, Clifton Fred (Skippy) Matthies; son, Michael Lynn Matthies; granddaughter, Amy Anderson and husband Eric; great-grandchildren, Brock and Bryson Anderson; cousin, Sandra Watts and husband Harold; sisters-in-law, Joe M. Schmidt, Ann Miller and husband Steve, and Betty Ann Matthies; brother-in-law, Zan Matthies and wife Pat; numerous nieces and nephews and many loving friends. Serving as pallbearers will be Gray Mosier, Eric Anderson, Fred M. Blumberg, Zan Matthies, Wesley Matthies, Billy Imhoff and Ted Imhoff.
