Mary Naomi Garrison Stehle, 89, of Seguin, passed away on April 2, 2017. Visitation will begin at 11 AM on Saturday, April 8, 2017 at First United Methodist Church followed by funeral services at 1 PM with Rev. Ron Welborn and Rev. Bill Knobles officiating. A reception will follow at Heirhozer Hall prior to the graveside services at 3:30 PM at Elm Creek Methodist Cemetery. Mary Naomi was born on February 3, 1928 in Milam County to Wallace Clayton and Mary Pearl (Perkins) Garrison. She married Joseph Stehle on August 4, 1946, and they shared 70 years together until his passing in September of 2016. Mary and Joe owned the Presa Café in San Antonio until Joe was offered a job to broker cut flowers. As Joe travelled, Mary stayed home and raised their five children, as well as numerous others throughout the neighborhood and church. In addition to keeping her household running, she was also the co-owner of their flower brokerage business. Mary loved flowers and loved to be outside in her garden, as Mary was a master floral arranger. She was a devoted mother, wife, friend, and Christian. She and Joe were faithful and active members of Laurel Heights United Methodist Church of San Antonio for over 50 years, and when they moved to Seguin, they joined First United Methodist Church. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband Joe; her parents; brother, Bobby Ray Garrison; sons-in-law, Phillip Peacock and James Dietz. Mary is survived by her loving children Vernon Dale Stehle, and wife Yvonne, Linda Dietz, Donna Raby, Patricia Peacock, Carol Calentine, and husband John; grandchildren Gary Stehle, Steven Stehle, Joseph Stehle, Timothy Stehle, Mark Dietz, Codi Breckenridge; Jim Raby, Jr., Randy Peacock, Justin Luke Peacock, and John Wesley Calentine; 19 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great-grandchildren; sister, Bobbie Nell Schembs, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and family members. Serving as pallbearers will be Gary Stehle, Steven Stehle, Joe Stehle, Tim Stehle, Jim Raby, Jr., Randy Peacock, Justin Luke Peacock, John Wesley Calentine, and Mark Dietz. Memorial contributions may be made to First United Methodist Church, 710 N Austin St, Seguin, TX 78155, or Gentiva Hospice, 1911 Corporate Dr., San Marcos, TX 78666.
