Matthew Mobley Akkola, was born in Dallas, Texas on April 3, 1973 to Mary Kate Mobley and Dennis Neal Akkola.  He passed away on September 17, 2024 at the age of 51.

He was a graduate of Schreiner University.  This past year he completed his PhD in Mechanical Engineering.  His passion for Jeeps, Radio Control Racing and all things technical and mechanical was apparent throughout his life.

He loved sports and was an avid tennis player in his younger years.  He also coached women's Olympic volleyball.  He had recently picked up golf and loved going to the course with the guys.

A celebration of Matthew's life will be held at the Aumont, 301 N. Austin St., Seguin, Texas, on Saturday, September 28, 2024 at 3 p.m.  A memorial Jeep run is planned for 2 p.m. from Buccees in New Braunfels to the Aumont on the same day.
