Matthew Otto Guenther, age 75 of Seguin, died on December 23, 2015. Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 28, 2015 at 11 a.m. at Tres Hewell Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Dr. Carl McCauley and Rev. Dave Diercksen officiating. Interment will follow in the San Geronimo Cemetery. Matthew was born on September 27, 1940 in Schulenburg to Frank and Irene (Schulz) Guenther. He is preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Henry, Martin, and Frank Guenther. Survivors include his loving wife, Sue Anne Guenther of Seguin; his children, Sarah Ann Guenther of Seguin, Matthew Emerson Guenther and wife Dianne of Austin, and Benjamin Ross Guenther and wife Misti of Seguin; grandchildren, Leah Jean Guenther, Evan Matthew Guenther, and Carter Steele Guenther of Austin; sister-in-law, Yvonne Guenther of Seguin; nephew Andrew Guenther of Houston; nieces Sherlyn Guenther Tarpley and husband Scott, Lugenia Guenther Ramirez and husband Lloyd, and Mandy Guenther Toombs and husband Jeff, all of Merkel; numerous great-nephews and great- nieces. Serving as pallbearers will be Darren Peters, Ryan Mycue, Zack Abrameit, Keith Steffen, Scott Williams, and Hayden Bersherse. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one's choice.
