Matthew Alan "Matt" Brown, age 53 of San Antonio, formerly of Seguin passed away on Sunday May 10, 2015. A memorial visitation will begin at 9 a.m. on Saturday, May 23, 2015 at First Baptist Church in Seguin, followed by a memorial service celebrating Matt's life at 10 a.m. with Rev. Dr. Brice Mandaville and Rev. Jeremy Roy officiating. A reception will follow. Private interment will be held at a later date. Matt was a 1980 graduate of Seguin High School. Growing up, Matt was active in the Youth Group at First Baptist Church. He attended Texas State University (SWTSU). He proudly served his country in the United States Navy from 1983 to 1988, including a post in the Gulf of Oman from 1986-1987. Most of Matt's career was spent in manufacturing, as a heavy equipment operator. Matt loved all sports and especially loved watching and playing golf. He was a huge fan of the Texas A & M Aggies. Survivors include his parents, Gail and Jimmie Porter and Donald H. Brown, Jr.; brother, Eric Brown and wife Kelly; sister, Debbie Brown; step-brother and step-sisters, Tracy Porter and wife Kelly, and Terri Beck and husband Vernon, Trisha Rice and husband Ken; aunt, Sara J. Price; step-children, April Rodriguez, Mary Carvajal, Sandy Carvajal and Erica Gonzales and numerous other loving relatives and many friends.
