Maxine Ingram Kent 1927-2017
Maxine Ingram Kent, at age 89 years, received her heavenly crown on June 25, 2017 with her family by her side. She was the daughter of Louisiana farming parents, Jesse and Lula Ingram, and spoke often of glorious childhood memories of days spent with extended family and many friends.
In 1949, she married the love of her life, Willie (Bill) Kent, and immediately accepted life as an Air Force wife. They spent a military career together traveling, transferring to new locations and developing warm and lasting friendships. Upon military retirement, they settled in Seguin where she provided a warm and nurturing home for her family. Her early years as a farmer's daughter instilled a love of the outdoors, gardening, and a special passion for her roses. She was known by her family and friends for preparing scrumptious meals at a moment's notice. Her kitchen was always open.
Maxine was a strong woman of independent character who loved her family and her church. She faithfully and lovingly served her Lord and Savior sixty years at First Baptist Church, Seguin. Several generations of children were taught of God's love through her many years of devoted service through Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, and Mother's Day Out participation.
The San Antonio Spurs have lost an ardent, committed fan. She attended each game via cable telecast while offering earnest coaching advice and play commentary.
Maxine is preceded in completion of this life's journey by her parents, siblings, husband, and infant daughter, Debbie Sue. Those left behind until meeting again in a Heavenly reunion are her daughters Sandra (Wayne) Rushton and Susan (Stuart) Crockett, and grandsons Kent (Jillian) Rushton, Kyle Rushton, and William Crockett.
A celebration of life service will be held at First Baptist Church, Seguin, on July 7, 2017 at 10 o'clock in the morning with a private interment to follow at Ogden Cemetery, Liddieville, LA at a later date.
