Melitta Reininger Rabe, age 83 of Seguin, passed away on December 10, 2013. Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 12, 2013 at Tres Hewell Mortuary from 5 to 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 13, 2013 at Christ Lutheran Church of Elm Creek at 10:30 a.m. with Pastor Anne Kolmeier officiating. Interment will follow in the Christ Lutheran of Elm Creek Cemetery. Melitta was born on April 18, 1930 in Guadalupe County to Erhard and Nora Henk Reininger. She is preceded in death by her husband Vernon Rabe, her parents, her great-grandson Blane Ricketts, brothers William and Ruben Reininger and sisters, Clara Lackey, Julia Lehmann, Adelaide Schwarz Lamprecht and Ruby Koehler. Survivors include her sons, Glenn Rabe and wife Donna of Seguin and Bruce Rabe and wife Robbie of Gonzales and daughter Carol Baker and husband Brian of Temple; grandchildren, Bradley (Lori), Travis (Kim), and Kyle (Courtney) Baker, Renee and Robert Rabe, Jaclyn, Jeremy (Laramie), Joshua (Rebecca) Bohac, and Laci (Joey) Alvarez; great-grandchildren, Adison, Colton, Bailey, John Walker, Gracy, Zane, Haven, Grayson, Jaxson, and Hazel; brothers, Jerome (Leona), Leroy (Maxine), Freddy, and James(Marlene) Reininger; twin sister, Melinda Mueller and sister Anna Marie (Edgar) Schievelbein; numerous nieces, nephews and other loving family members. Serving as pallbearers will be Bradley, Travis and Kyle Baker, Robert Rabe, Rusty Reininger and Larry Rabe.
