Obituary

Melvin August Demuth of Seguin, passed away on August 18, 2016, at the age of 91. He was born in Seguin Texas on August 17, 1925 to Theodore and Emma (Bittner) Demuth. He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 50 years, Bernice Lilly Demuth who died in May of 1994, his parents and his siblings, Adolf Demuth, Milly (Emilia) Demuth, Theodore Demuth, Jr., Irwin Demuth, Lydia Grimm, and Evelyn Wagner. Survivors include his son Charles Demuth and wife, Diane; daughter, Marie Livingston and husband, Ken; step-daughter, Jan Roberts and husband, Marion; grandchildren, Colton, Megan, Lilly, LeeAnn , Alex, Michael, Robin, Debra and Tammy; 8 great grandchildren and many loving nieces, nephews, an amazing caregiver team of loving women, and friends. He was a loved man in the community where he spent 48 combined years working at Vivroux Toy and Sporting goods and Vivroux Hardware. He spent a life time career as a community servant to the youth of his hometown. He was active in the Seguin Little League and the American Legion H U Wood Post # 245 in Seguin and proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. His accomplishments are many, but above all he was a family man. His life was dedicated to his family and every choice he made during his life was seen in these actions. He was a very hard working man and worked until the day he could not, due to health issues. Visitation will be held on Friday, August 19, 2016 at Tres Hewell Mortuary, from 5 to 7 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, August 20, 2016 at 1 p.m. at Tres Hewell Mortuary Chapel with Chaplain David Anderson officiating and military honors under the auspices of the American Legion H. U. Wood Post #245. Private family interment will be held at Guadalupe Valley Memorial Park. Following the private burial a reception will follow for all family and friends at the Livingston residence. Serving as pallbearers will be Allen Boenig, Steven Wagner, Gary Braune, Leroy Alves, William Maierhofer and Ron Newman. Honorary pallbearers will be Leo Henk, Leon Henk and John Bode. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Seguin Little League Association, P. O. Box 1351 Seguin, Texas 78156.
