Merle Cotten Burt, age 95 of Seguin, passed away on December 6, 2010. Memorial service will be held on Thursday, December 9, 2010 at 3:00 p.m. at Cross Church with Rev. Jim Price officiating. Private interment will be held at a later date. Merle was born on October 10, 1915 in Nueces County to Joe S. and Alice Webb Cotten. Her husbands, Cecil Catlett and Joel Burt, her daughter, Carolyn Catlett, her parents, and her brother, Joe Cotten all preceded her in death. Survivors include her daughter, Mary Alice Haskett; granddaughters, Janet Gunckel and husband Forrest and Metha Vasquez and husband Humberto; grandson, Larry Mynard and wife April; great-grandchildren, Katie Jozwiak, Kelly Jozwiak, Felina Vasquez, Lucia Vasquez, Leonardo Vasquez and Aubrey Mynard; great-great granddaughter, Sophia Atrian; several nieces and nephews.
