Obituary

Mildred Marie Gabbert Lindsey Beaver, age 94 of Seguin, died at home surrounded by her loving family after a brief illness. Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 10, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at Tres Hewell Mortuary followed by funeral services at Tres Hewell Chapel at 3:00 p.m. with Rev. Neil Kibbe and Rev. Robert Odom officiating. Private graveside services and interment will be held on Monday February 11, 2008 at Guadalupe Valley Memorial Park. Mildred was born May 21, 1913 at home near Pottsboro, Texas surrounded by her loving family. She was the fifth of ten children born to Clara and Paul Gabbert. In 1941 she married Master Sgt. Hugh C. Lindsey of the USMC and they lived at several stations stateside as well as in Tokyo, Japan. They had two children, Linda Rae and Jerry Lynn. She was preceded in death by her parents, all of her siblings, as well as her husband Hugh in 1967 and her son Jerry in 1990. Mildred, or Nana to her family and friends, enjoyed a personal relationship with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Called by Him at an early age to follow Him, she faithfully did the rest of her life, until He called her home on Friday morning, February 8, 2008. Her life was an overflow of her love for the Lord, serving Him in the Women's Missionary Union and as a Sunday School teacher. She was an active member of Trinity Baptist Church in Seguin for over 40 years, enjoying her senior adult ladies class and New Life fellowship for many years. At the time of her death, she was a member of the Country Church in Marion, Texas. Survivors include her daughter and son- in-law, Linda and Ray Morrison of Seguin. Daughter-in-law, Jan Trombley of Seguin; granddaughters, Jera Morrison of Seguin; Jana Lamphear and her husband Steve of Princeton, Texas; granddaughter Juli Morrison of Seguin and Laurie Lindsey Chittom and her husband Danny of Booneville, MS; six great-grandchildren, Julia and Sydney Lamphear of Princeton, Texas; Andrew Morrison Bradley of Seguin; and Jordan, Hannah and Ravin Chittom of Booneville, MS; nephew Phillip (Flip) Cassell and wife Diane; niece, Donna Broughton all of Dennison, Texas; nephew, Jim Lindsey and wife Vicky of Sherman. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Steve Lamphear, Danny Chittom, Robert Cockrell, Matt Richardson, Bubba Clark, and Richard Burpee. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Seguin Pregnancy Center Ministry, 656 N. 123 Bypass, Seguin, Texas, 78155.
