Naomi Lee Burns Bruce, age 85 of Seguin, formerly of Portland, passed away on October 6, 2008. Visitation will begin at 12 noon on Tuesday, October 7, 2008 with the family receiving friends from 4 to 6 p.m. followed by an evening service at Tres Hewell Mortuary Chapel at 6:00 p.m. with Rev. Dr. Brice Mandaville officiating. Graveside services and interment will be held on Wednesday, October 8, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at the Nixon Cemetery in Nixon, Texas. Naomi was born on December 31, 1922 near Durant, Oklahoma. Naomi will be remembered as Vice President of the First National Bank of Ingleside, Texas. She was a devoted member of the First Baptist Church in Seguin. Her parents, Marlin Nelson Burns and Mary Lee Gideon and brother, Nelson Emory Burns precede her in death as does her loving husband of 68 years, T. C. "Bud" Bruce. Survivors include her daughter, Mary Angelon Turberville and husband, Ashley; granddaughters, who knew her as "Mimi", Melanie Hewell and husband, Tres, Leslie Akin and husband, Brad and Lacey Gosch and husband, Chris; great-grandchildren, Matthew Harry and Mary Claire Akin, Hunter Holmes Hewell and Ashley Elizabeth Gosch. Serving as pallbearers will be Brad Akin, Tres Hewell, Chris Gosch, Matthew Akin, Hunter Hewell, and Gary Turberville. Memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church, 1314 E.
