Nelson Edward Erxleben, age 84 of Seguin, passed away on December 29, 2017. Visitation will be on Wednesday, January 3, 2018 from 5-7 PM at Tres Hewell Mortuary. Funeral services will be on Thursday, January 4, 2018 at 10 AM at Emanuel's Lutheran Church with Rev. Marcus Bigott officiating. Interment will follow at Guadalupe Valley Memorial Park. Nelson was born on January 21, 1933 in Guadalupe County, Texas to Edwin and Bertha (Hagemann) Erxleben. Nelson was a graduate of Seguin High School, Class of 1951. He proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. After his honorable discharge from the Army, Nelson returned to Seguin and began working at Western Auto. He later moved to GBRA where he retired after 26 years of service. Nelson loved to fish, and could often be found telling his fishing stories over nickel coffee at Whataburger. Nelson is preceded in death by his granddaughter, Codie D'Lynn Erxleben, and his parents. Nelson is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Elna Ann "Prissy" Erxleben; son, Michael Erxleben; daughter, Betty Ann Schriewer and husband, Jimmy; grandchildren, Vicki Wilson and husband, Chris, Dena Altwein and husband, Rayno, Jesica Zunker and husband, Wes, Joseph Regalado and wife, Sarah, Whitney Moses and husband, Mason, and Trent Erxleben; great-grandchildren, Makenzi, Landri, Tate, Cash, Emma, Ella, Mackenzey, Ryan, Jackson, Miles, Parker and Reid; brother Raymond Erxleben and wife, Martha, Harvey Erxleben and wife, Susie; as well as numerous brother and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews, and many friends.
