Nelson H. Schneider, age 87 of Seguin, passed away on November 14, 2011. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, November 16, 2011 at Tres Hewell Mortuary from 5 to 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 17, 2011 at Tres Hewell Mortuary Chapel at 10 a.m. with Rev. Paul J. Zwarich officiating. Interment with military honors under the auspices of the American Legion H. U. Wood Post 245 will follow in the Dugger Cemetery. Nelson was born on November 14, 1924 in Guadalupe County to Edward and Rosalee Seay Schneider. He proudly served his country during World War II in the United States Navy. He was a life long member of Emanuel's Lutheran Church. He enjoyed playing dominoes at the American Legion H. U. Wood Post 245 with his friends twice a week. He is preceded in death by his parents, and his brothers, Edward, Charles, Oran and Anthony Schneider. Survivors include his loving wife of 62 years, Sylvia Ploetz Schneider; children, Ronald Schneider and wife Sandra, Debbie Bode and husband Allan, Wade Schneider, and Nancy Schneider; grandchildren, Steven Schneider, Dawn Mund and husband Kris, Michael Schneider, Joseph Al-Ruqim and Christopher Schneider; great-grandchildren, Peyton and Madison Mund; sister, Roselyn Busch and husband Roman; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
