Nelson Wayne Schultze, age 72 of Goliad, passed away on May 12, 2018. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 16, 2018 at Tres Hewell Mortuary from 5 to 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 17, 2018 at 2 p.m. at Tres Hewell Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Gerald Metzger officiating. Graveside services and interment will follow in the Holy Cross Cemetery in Goliad, Texas at 4:30 p.m. Nelson was born on September 28, 1945 in San Antonio, Texas, to Elrene Paul and Leola (Dieckow) Schultze. Nelson will be remembered as a longtime farmer and rancher in both Guadalupe and Goliad Counties. He loved deer hunting and spending time with his family and friends. He is preceded in death by his father. Survivors include his loving wife of 51 years, Jackie Schultze; daughters, Dana Kutz and husband Glenn, Gretchen Whitten and husband Corey; grandchildren, Jacob, Matthew and Joshua Kutz, and Alex, Abigail and Ashlynn Whitten; mother, Leola Schultze; sister, Betty Surman and husband Darryl; sister-in-law, Marilyn Robitzsch; nieces, Lesley Surman, Carol Grothues and husband Jason, and Cindy Castillo and husband Scott; numerous other loving family members and friends.
