Obituary

Norma Jane Johnston Adcock, age 89 of Seguin, passed away on April 8, 2009. Visitation will be held at Tres Hewell Mortuary Friday, April 10, 2009 from 2 to 7 p.m. with the family receiving friends from 5 to 7p.m. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, April 11, 2009 at First Baptist Church at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Dr. Brice Mandaville, Rev. Dusty Rhodes and Rev. Jim Price officiating. Interment will follow in the Nockenut Cemetery. Norma was born on December 26, 1919 in Wilson County to Finnie Crawley and Eliza Jane Hastings Johnston. Norma will be remembered as a faithful and active member of First Baptist Church and a valued and longtime employee of Wal-Mart. Her husband Calvin R. Adcock precedes her in death as does her daughter, Norma Joyce Hastings, son, Calvin F. (Sonny) Adcock, sons-in-law, Kenneth Schulze and Kenneth Markgraf, her parents, 1sister and 3 brothers. Survivors include her daughters, Ellen Blanch and husband Bobby, Betty Markgraf, Alice Heinemeyer and husband, Doug and Viola Blanch and husband, Hugh; son, Joe Adcock and wife, Linda; son-in-law, Bobby J. Hastings and wife, Jo; brother, Preston Johnston and wife, Thelma; 19 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; and 5 great-great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Norma's grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, c/o Jeanette Siltmann, 196 Townesend Lane, Seguin, Texas, 78155 or to the charity of one's choice.
