Opal Gwanita Wiley Schwarzkopf, age 84 of Seguin, passed away September 3, 2016 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Opal was born May 29, 1932 in Stockdale, Texas to Abner "Bill" and Eunice (West) Wiley. Opal was a 1949 graduate of Stockdale High School. Her class of 30 members has a class reunion each year which she never missed. It was in 1952 that she laid her pretty blue eyes on the love of her life, Marvin Schwarzkopf. They married January 10, 1953 and were married for 33 wonderful years. She enjoyed her time working as a cook/waitress at Friedecks Cafeteria, caretaker for the elderly and being a nanny, but mostly enjoyed being a housewife and raising her six children. Opal loved her flowers, gardening, cooking and going gambling with her son John and friends. She also loved spending time with her family and friends. Most of all she adored her children, grandchildren and great- grandchildren and there were many other children she considered as hers. She is preceded in death by her husband Marvin L. Schwarzkopf, sons, John Ross Schwarzkopf and Michael Brian Schwarzkopf, baby daughter, parents, brother, Chester Wiley and sisters, Inez Dixon and Lucille Lynn. Survivors include her children, Karen Kay Schwarzkopf, Tommy Jean Ridgway (Sam), Joan Ann Bornemann (Danny), and Marvin (Marty) Wayne Schwarzkopf (Elaine); daughter-in-law, Jayme McLeod; grandchildren, Chelsey Schwarzkopf Bloch (Trevor), Carly Bornemann, Collin Bornemann, Christian McLeod, Candace Nicely (David); great-grandchildren, Conner and Colten Bloch, Hagen and Laine Nicely; and coming in December, great-grandchild, Cailyn Opal Bornemann; brother, Abner Ross (Nub) Wiley (Lydia); sister-in-law, Marynell Wiley; many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held Tuesday, September 6, 2016 from 5 pm-7 pm at Tres Hewell Mortuary. Funeral service will be held Wednesday, September 7, 2016 at 10 a.m. at Tres Hewell Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Jim Price officiating. Interment will follow at Eden Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers Ronnie Cueller, Zach Johnson, Marvin Quinney, Donald Jones, Roy Lynn and Mitchell Wiley.
