Ople Colwell Crowell, age 90 of Luling, passed away on June 23, 2016. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, June 28, 2016 at First United Methodist Church in Luling followed by funeral services at 11 a.m. with Rev. Madeline C. Henners officiating. Interment will follow at McNeil Cemetery. Ople was born on March 17, 1926 in Orange, Texas to George and Annie Laura (Moses) Colwell. Ople was a member of the Luling High School graduating class of 1943. She is preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Marion H. Crowell, her parents, her brothers and sisters, Beulah Moon, George Colwell, Alfred Burns Colwell, Dorothy Lee Monroe and Grover Colwell and her daughter-in-law, Joyce Crowell. Ople is survived by her son, Jay Crowell; daughter, Kay Crowell Tiller and husband Leo; granddaughters, Dana McNabb and husband Matt, and Kristen Crowell; great-grandchildren, Kendall Cox, Carson McNabb and Kash McNabb; numerous nieces, nephews, other loving family members and many friends. The family would like to thank Compassionate Care Hospice and Ople's personal caregivers for their loving care. Serving as pallbearers will be Craig Nickells, Jamie Nickells, Walter Nickells, Kirby Crowell, Larry Doyle and Delane Bassett. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be her loving caregivers, Angelica Arana, Valerie Moore, Sabina Martinez and Victoria Chavez.
