Oscar Eugene "Gene" Collier, age 81 of McQueeney, formerly of Travis and Williamson Counties, passed away on September 14, 2009. Services celebrating Gene's life will be held on Sunday, September 20, 2009 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the home of Bill and Sharon Davis, 2094 W. Kingsbury on Lake Placid near Seguin. Gene was born on October 26, 1927 in Travis County, Texas to Oscar Samuel and Myrtle Maynard Collier. Throughout his law enforcement career, he served as Constable of Precinct 2 in Travis County and later served as Chief of Police in Round Rock. His parents, grandson, Brandon Fuchs and 7 brothers and sisters precede him in death. Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Colleen Gilmore Collier; children, Kaye Weaver and husband, Kelly, Sidney Collier and Kyle Friesenhahn and husband, Danny;UT buddy, Cheryl Collier; grandchildren, Lisa Dee and husband, Bill, Eric Collier and wife, Regina and Bryan Fuchs and wife, Sydney; great-grandchildren, William, Christian and Brandalyn Dee and Keaton Collier; sisters, Oleta Phillips and Lenora Reimers; numerous nieces and nephews; beloved dogs, Dash, Tiger Bob and Sugar Lady; Gene was an amazing, kind soul that never had a negative word to say about any other soul on this earth. His hobbies included bull riding, watching football, travelling and cooking. He loved his family more than life itself and will be greatly missed by all whose lives he touched.
