Pastor James C. Metcalfe, age 75 of Seguin, passed away on June 24, 2010. Memorial service with military honors will be held on Saturday, June 26, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at Hillcrest Assembly of God Church with Pastor Don Wiehe officiating. Graveside services and interment will follow at a later date at the Quemada Cemetery in Quemada, Texas. Pastor Metcalfe was born on September 28, 1934 in Fayetteville, Tennessee to Frank and Flossie Bell Fears Metcalfe. He retired with the rank of Sergeant First Class from the United States Army. He will be remembered as the former pastor of First Assembly of God Church here in Seguin. He loved playing golf and spending quality time with his family and friends. He is preceded in death by his wife, Gloria Northcutt Metcalfe, his parents and 1 sister and 4 brothers. Survivors include his children, Clay Metcalfe and wife Jeannie, Tom Metcalfe and wife Pat, Frank Metcalfe and wife Judy, John Metcalfe and wife Palida, Theresa Arbuckle and husband Richard and Chris Metcalfe and wife Selina; siblings, Edith Porter, Hoover Metcalfe and wife Hilda, Hulon Metcalfe and Betty Bethae and husband Jim; 21 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews and cousins.
