Pastor Gus Chupe, age 81 of Seguin, passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side on Tuesday, March 12, 2024. He was born on August 10, 1942, in Rockport, Texas to Iva Adelaide Hicks and Gus Chupe, Sr.  Of Rockport, Tx.

He is preceded in death by his parents and his siblings,  sisters Betty Louise Ringo, Joyce Marie Taylor, Bonnie Ann Pulido, Dorothy Lee Chupe, and brother William Billy Kelly Jr.

Survivors include his beloved wife of 44 years, Debra Baker Chupe; children, David Chupe, William "Boe" Garner and wife Charlisa, Rebecca Spottedhorse and husband Gary, Kevin "Chupe" Tsoupis and wife Kim and Jacob Garner; 12 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Shirley Gould and husband William and Betty Gallagher; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other loving family members and many friends.

Visitation will begin on Friday, March 22, 2024, at 5 p.m. at Tres Hewell Mortuary Chapel followed by an evening funeral service beginning at 6 p.m.  Visitation will conclude at 8 p.m.  Another funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 23, 2024, at 10 a.m. in Tres Hewell Mortuary Chapel. Interment will follow at Highsmith Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be, William Garner, Brandi Ruiz, Jimmy O'Brien, Joey O'Brien, Sylvester Arredondo and Joshua Baker.

Pastor Gus Chupe was a father, a brother, a husband, a grandfather, a great grandfather and a friend. In all these areas he gave his whole heart but there was one thing above all that he loved more and that was serving the kingdom of God. Pastor Chupe had a passion for ministry in Mexico.

Anyone who knew Brother Chupe knew he had a special place in his heart for tacos!!!
