Obituary

Patricia Ann "Patt" Linden, PhD., passed away on January 10, 2016 in Seguin, TX. A memorial service will be held on Monday, January 25, 2016 at 3 P.M. at the Chapel of the Abiding Presence on the campus of Texas Lutheran University with the Rev. Dr. Carl McCauley officiating. A reception will follow at TLU's Jackson Park Event Center. Patt was born June 20, 1938 in San Antonio to Atz and O'Teal (Kuhfuss) Willmann. She graduated from Seguin High School in 1956 in the first class to graduate from the newly built school. Upon her graduation from Texas Lutheran College in 1960, Patt moved first to Minnesota and then to Waco, TX where she worked at the Region 12 Education Center. Patt then left Texas again, this time to begin her PhD work in education at the University of Colorado. It was there that she met and married the love of her life, Jack Linden. Patt was Co-director of University Without Walls at Loretto Heights College, and curriculum coordinator for the Aurora Public School System. The couple retired to Seguin in 1999 so that Patt could enjoy more trees, birds, and a longer growing season, and became actively involved in the area. Among her many positions and community work, Patt served as president of the Mid-Texas Symphony Society and the Nogales Garden Club. She also served on the boards of the TLU Alumni Association and the Seguin Area Convention and Visitors Bureau. Patt was preceded in death by her parents and her daughter Jennifer Solberg. She is survived by her loving husband of 34 years, Jack; son Michael Solberg and wife Virginia of Plano, TX; step-daughters Dawn Linden of Seattle, WA, Laurie Foster and husband Kurt of Centennial, CO, Heather McCleary and husband Joe of Centennial, CO; grandchildren Zane and Asher Solberg, Jarrod, Simon and Max Wright, Bryce and Cole Foster, Evan and Sydney McCleary; brother Kenneth Willmann and wife Ann, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and many friends.
