Patsy Bernice Newton Kersey, age 82 of Seguin, passed away on October 15, 2014. A memorial service celebrating Patsy's life will be held on Saturday, November 1, 2014 at 2 p.m. at the home of Janie and Matt Sedlak. Patsy was born on June 26, 1932 in San Antonio, Texas to Harvey Newton and Bernice Cale Rhodes. She was a 1949 graduate of Brackenridge High School in San Antonio. Patsy worked as a bookkeeper for Brawner & Brawner, Economy Floors, Vollmer Electric and Mann & Mann Media. She is preceded in death by her father, mother, step-father, Don Rhodes, and granddaughter Lori Turner Allison. Survivors include her husband of 65 years, James J. "Jim" Kersey; daughters Janie Sedlak and husband Matt, and Brenda Montague and husband Mark; sisters, Wanda Mann and husband David, and Peggy McKinney and husband Eddie; brother-in-law, Mike Kersey and wife Sue; grandchildren: Terri Blang and husband Bryan, Jim Turner and wife, Jean Scheidnes, Adam Montague and Leslie Montague; nine great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
