Paul Wright, age 92 of Seguin, passed away on November 21, 2017. A graveside service with military honors will be held on Thursday, November 30, 2017 at 1:15PM at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery with Rev. Marcus Bigot officiating. Paul was born on January 17, 1925 in Godley, Texas to Asa Taylor and Ella May (Oliver) Wright. Paul proudly served in the United States Army for 23 years. He began as a medic in World War II, stationed in both England and Germany, as well as the Korean War. After the war, he met Maria Schuster and the two were married in 1959. Paul left his bride to return to the United States, and Maria joined him in El Paso. During Paul's long career in the military, the couple moved to California, back to Germany, and lastly to Ft. Bragg, North Carolina, where Paul retired in 1967. Paul then went to work for AAFES, where he stayed for 20 years, finally retiring in 1987. Paul and Maria then decided to sell their home and buy an RV to tour the country, eventually settling in Seguin. Paul loved working in the garden and taking nature walks. He was also very active in the VFW of Geronimo, as well as Emanuel's Lutheran Church where he served on the property committee. Above all, Paul was a man who loved his country, was a devoted husband, and a wonderful father and grandfather who will be dearly missed. He is preceded in death by his parents; son, John P. Wright; siblings, A.J. Wright, Roy D. Wright, Vernon V. Wright, John E. Wright, Lena Jenkins, Clara Fisher, Elsa Wallace, Inez Elkins, and Pauline Homes. Paul is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Maria Wright; son, Bobby J. Wright; daughters, Carol Chinn, Sue Davis, and Yvonne Agustinho; 7 grandchildren; 1 great-grandson; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
