Paula Wieding Mays, age 99 of Seguin, passed away on September 29, 2016. Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 1, 2016 at Tres Hewell Mortuary from 2 to 4 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, October 2, 2016 at 3 p.m. at Christ Lutheran Church of Elm Creek with Pastor Anne Kolmeier officiating. Interment will follow in Christ Lutheran Church of Elm Creek Cemetery. Paula was born on December 16, 1916 in Bexar County Texas to Hugo D. and Marie (Dieckow) Wieding. She and her husband George A. Mays were long time active members of Christ Lutheran Church of Elm Creek and also active members in the New Berlin Community. She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, siblings, Viola Zamzow, Hugo "Boodie" Wieding, Reno Wieding, Walter Wieding and Herman Wieding and grandson, Keith Mays, Jr. Survivors include her daughter, Rhonda L. Schmidt, sons, Keith G. Mays and wife Nancy, and Hunter R. Mays; grandchildren, Eric Schmidt and wife Cheryl, William Schmidt and wife Amanda, Timothy Schmidt and wife Laura, Sherry Wiggins and husband James "Bo", and Christopher Mays and wife Amy; great-grandchildren, Hayden, Emily, Parker, Mason, Hattie, Brittney, Brian Keith, and Ashtin; sister, Marie Wieding; sister-in-law, Joyce Wieding; numerous nieces, nephews, other loving family members and many friends. Serving as pallbearers and honorary pallbearers will be her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
