Phillip "Phil" Escobar, age 58 of Seguin passed away on January 11, 2021.  Phillip was born on November 14, 1962 in Austin, Texas, to Pedro M. and Anita (Castillo) Escobar.  He will be remembered as a longtime employee at Continental.  He was an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys and the University of Texas Longhorn football teams.

He is preceded in death by his father and brother, Robert Escobar.  Survivors include his loving wife of 28 years, Melinda Catoe Escobar; son, Danny Gonzales; daughters, Miranda Escobar, Angel Escobar, and Annette Escobar; granddaughter, Mia Bella; grandson, Houston; mother, Anita C. Escobar; siblings, Lydia Escobar, Pete Escobar and wife Melissa, Rita Rangel and husband Phillip, Isabel Vasquez and husband Reynaldo, and Tina Chapa and husband Marcus; mother-in-law, Joyce Schriewer and husband Johnny; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Toby Catoe and wife Vicki, Debbie Hohensee and husband Mark, Tommy Catoe and wife Abby, Clay Delany and Robert Delany and Jerrica; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other loving family members and many friends.

A walk-through line visitation will be held on Friday, January 15, 2021 at Tres Hewell Mortuary, from 5 to 7 p.m.  All CDC protocols must be followed, including limited seating, social distancing, and face coverings worn.  Private family services will be held at a later date.

Phil was loved by many family and friends and was devoted to all, especially taking care of his girls, Melinda and Miranda.  He will forever be remembered as a faithful husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle, cousin and friend and he will be missed by his family, his friends and his Continental Family.
