In peaceful silence on February 4, 2024, Pleas DeLaney "Bubba" Anderson, age 82, grasped God's hand leading Him to Heaven. Born on August 27, 1941, to Pleas A. and Zella Mae "Bobbie" Anderson, Bubba made Seguin his lifelong home.

Bubba is preceded in death by his parents and his in-laws, Raymond and Helen Deorsam.

Survivors include his loving wife of 60 years, Marilyn Deorsam Anderson; sons, Beau Anderson and wife Margaret, Travis Anderson and wife Elizabeth, Eric Anderson and wife Amy; grandchildren, Amber De la Garza and husband Daniel, Megan Hale and husband Buddy, Trevor Anderson, Brittany Anderson, Brock Anderson and Bryson Anderson; great-grandchildren, Alana De la Garza, Gabby, Dylan and Colby Hale; sister, Peggy Clingingsmith; sister-in-law Audrey Deorsam Appelt and husband George; nephews, niece, many cousins, other loving family members and many friends.

A product of the Seguin ISD, class of 1959, he was always a proud Matador football player. Bubba was a patriot who loved Texas and his country serving in the U.S. Navy as a Gunners Mate. With Marilyn by his side, they spent several years owning the Colonial House Restaurant near what was then called by locals "the four corners." He enjoyed many years selling Buicks and Jeeps at Weyel Buick in Seguin, cherishing the many customers who became true friends.

His life revolved around his children and grandchildren as they were the center of his universe. Many happy memories were made of camping and fishing on the Guadalupe River. He also enjoyed beach trips to Port Aransas where, in earlier years, he lost a lot of tackle on the South Jetty. Attending the extra-curricular activities of his grandchildren was always on his agenda. Bubba was proud to tell people he had all his sons and their families living somewhere on the family farm.

Visitation will begin on Thursday, February 8, 2024, at Tres Hewell Mortuary from 5 to 7 P.M. Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 9, 2024, at 11:00 A.M. at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Jeremy Roy officiating. Interment with military honors will follow in San Geronimo Cemetery. A reception will follow at the Silver Center, 510 E. Court St., Seguin.

Pallbearers will be Trevor Anderson, Brock Anderson, Bryson Anderson, Daniel De la Garza, Buddy Hale and Dylan Hale.
