Reinhold Dewitt "R. D." Odom, age 71 of Seguin, passed away into the arms of our Lord on February 20, 2016. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, February 24, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at Tres Hewell Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Jim Price officiating and with military honors. Private interment will be held at a later date. R. D. was born in Seguin Texas on May 29, 1944 to Dewitt and Norma Rose (Luedecke) Odom. He was a graduate of Seguin High School Class of 1963. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He enjoyed drag racing with his son and competing at cars shows with his 1967 Pontiac GTO. He loved spending time with his family and his beloved pets Tesa and Brently. He is preceded in death by his parents, brother, Ray Odom and his niece, Ashley Odom. Survivors include his loving wife of 47 years, Violet Odom; son, Reinhold Dewitt "Ronny" Odom, Jr. and wife Dina; grandchildren, Alex, Anthony, Alisa and Andrew; sister, Gayle Barker and husband Chuck; brother, Roy Odom and wife Yolanda; sisters-in-law, Gladys Cummins and husband Mike, and Jo Anne Stewart and husband Bob; brother-in-law, Woodrow Wilson "Mickey" Deck, Jr. and wife Cheryl; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
