Reyes R. Zavala, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather passed away peacefully on Monday, November 19 2012, at the age of 88. He was born in Seguin, Texas, on December 24, 1924. Reyes was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church for 34 years. He proudly served his country in World War II as solider in the United States Army and retired from Kelly Air Force Base after 32 years. Reyes will always be remembered for the love and dedication he had for his family and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his parents Reyes Zavala Sr., and Miquela Zavala, his brothers Ignacio Zavala, and Frank Robles. Reyes was survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Guadalupe Zavala; daughters Linda (Paul) Lopez, Laura (Rudy) Rodriguez, Genola (Archie) Carrillo, Sons; Richard (Irene) Basquez, and Donnie (Julie) Zavala. 11 grand-children, 19 great grand-children, 2 great-great grand-children and many relatives and friends. The family will receive friends at Tres Hewell Mortuary on Friday, November 23, 2012 at 5:00 pm viewing and 7:00 pm Rosary. A procession will depart the funeral home the following morning, Saturday, November 24 2012 at 9:30 am for a Funeral Mass at 10:00 am at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Christian burial will follow at Our Lady of Guadalupe Cemetery.
