Richard Gene McBride, age 68 of Seguin, passed away on May 5, 2011. Visitation will be held on Monday, May 9, 2011 at Tres Hewell Mortuary at 12 noon with the family receiving friends beginning at 5:00 p.m. followed by the recitation of the rosary at 7:00 p.m. A procession will depart Tres Hewell Mortuary Chapel on Tuesday, May 10, 2011 at 9:30 a.m. for the mass of Christian burial at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Entombment will follow in Holy Cross Mausoleum in San Antonio, Texas. Richard was born on March 1, 1943 in Kewanee, Illinois to Jacob D. and Loretta C. (Cussie) Tracy McBride. He is preceded in death by his parents, his brother Jacob (Baby Jake) McBride and his sister Sandra Hawksworth. Survivors include his loving wife, Dora McBride; son, Richard Gene McBride, II and wife Lisa; daughters, Loretta (Cussie) Ayala and Sheila McBride; grandchildren, Joe Ceja and wife Alejandra; Christina McBride, Tony Ayala, Jake McBride, Mariah Aubrey, Richard McBride, III, Jeffrey Rowdie McBride, Mack Aubrey and A. J. Guajardo; great grandchildren, Leslie Ceja, Alexander Ceja, Victoria Ceja and Ricardo Ceja; sisters, Donetta Berchtold and husband Daniel, Peggy Young and partner Vernon Crain, and Jo Ann Eaton; numerous nieces and nephews. Serving as pallbearers will be grandsons, Joe Ceja, Tony Ayala, Mack Aubrey, Jake McBride, Richard McBride, III, Jeffrey Rowdie McBride, A. J. Guajardo and Alexander Ceja.
