Rita Sue Scott Fuson, age 74 (but 29 forever!) of Leesville, passed away on November 2, 2017. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 4, 2017 at 11AM at Tres Hewell Mortuary Chapel with Pastor Jimmy Lammers officiating. A private interment will be held at a later date. Rita was born on September 18, 1943 in Clifton, Texas to Monie Monroe and Wilmerth Flora (Hamilton) Scott. Rita and her family moved to New Mexico when she was a young girl. It was here that she met the love of her life, Dewey Leon Fuson. They married in January 17, 1961, and together spent the majority of their time in El Paso where Dewey was employed by the El Paso Electric Company while Rita worked in insurance. Rita was a devoted Christian, and she gave glory to God each Sunday by playing the piano and organ at Hillcrest Baptist Church in El Paso, a position she held for 32 years, as well as teaching Sunday school. Rita was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend who will be missed deeply. Rita is preceded in death by her parents; Rita is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 56 years, Dewey Fuson; children, Audie Fuson and wife, Janet, Kevin Fuson and wife, Tracy, Vanessa Wagster and husband, Russell, and Kathryn Monique Fuson; grandchildren, Haley Fuson, Amber Crawford, Brooke Miner, Ryan Fuson, Justin Fuson, Tabatha Fuson, and Randilyn Wagster; 7 great-grandchildren; and devoted friends Ward and Laura Oliver, as well as numerous other loving family members and friends.
