Robert A. "Bob" Rhodes, age 86 of Seguin, passed away on March 8, 2014. Visitation will be held on Monday, March 17, 2014 at Tres Hewell Mortuary Chapel from 5 to 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 18, 2014 at 10 a.m. at Walnut Street Church of Christ with Mr. Ken Walters officiating. A luncheon will follow in the fellowship hall. Graveside services and interment with full military honors will follow at 2 p.m. at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery. Bob was born on September 2, 1927 in Los Angeles, California to Robert and Eula (Arnold) Rhodes. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy, and later retired from the United States Air Force. After his military retirement he worked for General Electric Co. in Houston. He was a 50 plus year member of the Masonic Lodge in Montana. He was an active member of the Walnut Street Church of Christ where he loved serving in many capacities. He is preceded in death by his parents, his former wife, Betty Bob Rhodes and his sister Dorothy Rhodes Roberts. Survivors include his loving wife, Barbara Rhodes; daughters, Vicki Fisher and Deidra Starling and husband Terry Starling; grandchildren, Skylar Fisher, Whitney Fisher and fiancé Joe Lauderdale, Garrett Starling and wife Lyndsey, Brandon Starling and fiancé Jennifer Dulak and Travis Starling and wife Lacey; great-granddaughter, Leah Starling; brother, Jack Rhodes; numerous nieces, nephews and other loving family members and friends. Serving as pallbearers will be Skylar Fisher, Garrett Starling, Brandon Starling, and Travis Starling. Honorary pallbearer will be Wylie Berryman. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Walnut Street Church of Christ for benevolent causes, 1351 E. Walnut St., Seguin, Texas, 78155.
