Robert "Bob" H. Mattfeld, age 77 of Seguin, passed away on August 27, 2012. A memorial service celebrating Bob's life will be held on Friday, August 31, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at Tres Hewell Mortuary Chapel with Willie Spreen officiating. A reception will follow at the Weinert House. Private interment will take place at a later date as he requested his body be donated for medical research. Bob was born on July 18, 1935 in Seguin, Texas to Gilbert H. and Blanche McMullen Mattfeld. He was a member of the Seguin High School Class of 1953. After working a short time in Houston, Bob and his family returned to his native Seguin where he was self employed. An avid outdoorsman, Bob enjoyed boating and fishing on Lake LBJ, hunting in the Hill Country, and golfing in Seguin. In addition he enjoyed traveling and bowling. He is preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his loving wife of 51 years, Judith "Judy" Meador Mattfeld; son, Scott Mattfeld and friend, Tom Schable; numerous other loving relatives and friends. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Vernie Meador, Sidney Meador, Jim Meador, Henderson Rogers, and his Deer Hunting Group, Danny Shelnutt, Russ Whitehouse, Deryl Shelnutt, and David Robertson.
