Robert Lee Chick, Jr. (R.L.)
R.L. Chick, Jr., age 91, formerly of Rocky Mount, died in Seguin, Texas, on Dec. 8, 2018. He was born in Prospect, Va., to Robert and Gertrude Glenn Chick. R.L. graduated from Rocky Mount High School in 1945. After graduating from E.C.T.C.(East Carolina now) in 1951, he married the love of his life, Dee Wilkinson, and they embarked on a 30-year career in the United States Air Force, traveling far and wide while raising their family. R.L. retired in 1979 as a Lt. Col. He and Dee then returned to Rocky Mount for their retirement years and to enjoy spending time with his parents. They enjoyed frequent visits to Walt Disney World and to his beloved Virginia Mountains and Williamsburg. R.L. was preceded in death by his parents and son-in-law Wiley Fuller. He is survived by his wife Dee, daughter Sandra Fuller, daughter Linda Haseloff (Robert), son Robert III (Marla), granddaughter Kiley Bissette Fuller, two step-grandchildren, four step-great grandchildren, brother Garland and his wife "Sam", as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews. A private service will be held at a later date in Seguin. As R.L. would say to all "Keep on smiling". Memorial contributions may be made to First United Methodist Church in Seguin, 710 N.
