Robert Lee Stillwell, Sr., age 85 of Kingsbury, passed away on March 28, 2019. Visitation will be held on Friday, March 29, 2019 at Tres Hewell Mortuary from 5 to 7 p.m. Graveside services and interment will be held on Saturday, March 30, 2019 at 10 a.m. at the Kingsbury Cemetery with Mr. Kenny Dubois officiating. Robert was born on November 2, 1933 in Camp Wood, Texas to C. A. and Beatrice (Brown) Stillwell. He worked for approximately 20 years in the oil fields prior to becoming a microwave technician in the communications industry. He was extremely talented in his welding, gun engraving and leatherwork. In his 60's, Robert started participating in endurance racing with his Arabian horse Pindai, winning prizes in almost every race he ran. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and teaching them about animals and country life. Many good times were spent outdoors – hunting, ranching, and working with his horses, livestock and dogs. He is preceded in death by his parents. His beloved dog Sam passed only one day before him. Survivors include his loving wife of 57 years, Annette Stillwell; sons, Robert "Bobby" Stillwell, Jr. and wife Valerie, and Travis Stillwell; grandchildren, Luke Stillwell, Tiffany Burgess and fiancé Trey Hartman, Kayleigh Stillwell, Claire Stillwell and Cole Stillwell; sister, Alvis Ann Edwards; brother, Donnie Stillwell and wife Barbara; numerous nieces, nephews, other loving family members and many friends. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Donnie Stillwell, Stan Davis, Charlie Stillwell, Bryon Stillwell, Luke Stillwell and Cole Stillwell. Robert will be remembered as a devoted Christian who was very active in his faith and was always a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He will be missed by all his family and friends. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one's choice.
