Obituary

Robert (Bob) W. Everett, age 72 of Seguin, passed away on November 23, 2013. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 26, 2013 at Tres Hewell Mortuary from 5 to 7 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, November 27, 2013 at 10 a.m. at Tres Hewell Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Tom Jones officiating. Interment with military honors will follow in Lone Oak Cemetery. Bob was born on May 15, 1941 in Fort Worth Texas to William Travis Everett and Betty Ruth Gore Everett Wallace. He proudly served his country as a veteran of the United States Navy and a retiree of the United States Coast Guard where he was a Chief Petty Officer. Bob attended the University of Oklahoma, DelMar College in Corpus Christi, Texas Lutheran College (TLU) archeological field schools. He was a member of the Episcopal Church and a member of the American Legion H. U. Wood Post #245. He was a substitute teacher for the Seguin Independent School District where he was known as "Mr. Bob". Bob had a passion for archaeology for over 50 years and served as a steward of the Coastal Bend Archaeological Society where he served as Vice-President. He was a member of the Texas, Louisiana and Oklahoma Anthropological Societies. He served on the Board of The Texas Historical Commission and was a board member of the Seguin and Guadalupe County Heritage Museum. Bob is preceded in death by his parents, brother, Billy Travis Everett and brother-in-law, Kenneth Ray Uhr. Survivors include his loving wife of 51 years, Carol J. (Uhr) Everett; sons, Christopher S. Everett and Mark Everett; daughter, Michelle M. Everett Hammond; grandchildren, Christina L. Everett and partner Scott Werley, Brentley W. Everett and wife Taylor, Miranda P. Everett, Addison P. Everett, Travis West Everett, Hunter Ray Hammond; great- grandson, Dylan B. McCombs; brother, David F. Wallace; sister-in-law, Betty Jo Everett; several nieces and nephews, many other special relatives and many dear friends and his beloved pet dog Minnie. Serving as pallbearers will be Brentley Everett, Travis Everett, Eric Uhr, Derek Duvall, John Mullen, Roy Odom and Woody Ellis. Bob will be remembered as a wonderful husband, father and grandfather and as a contributor to his community here in Seguin and other surrounding communities. He will be sorely missed by those lives he has touched. Memorial contributions may be made to the Seguin and Guadalupe County Heritage Museum, 114 N. River St., Seguin, Texas, 78155.
