Roland John Herbold, age 89 of Seguin, passed away on November 26, 2011. Visitation will be held on Monday, November 28, 2011 at Tres Hewell Mortuary from 2 to 7 p.m. with the family receiving friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 29, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at Emanuel's Lutheran Church with Rev. Paul J. Zwarich officiating and military honors under the auspices of the American Legion H U Wood Post 245. A reception will follow in the Emanuel's Lutheran Church fellowship hall. Private family interment in the Stigall-Herbold Memorial Park will be held later that afternoon. Roland was born on July 5, 1922 in Guadalupe County to Henry Fred and Hedwig Greiner Herbold. He was a life long member of Emanuel's Lutheran Church where he was baptized on September 30, 1922, confirmed on March 21, 1937 and married to Bobbie Jean Stigall on January 4, 1946. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during World War II. Roland will be remembered for serving the community for over three generations in the water well business. He is preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Marvin H. Herbold and John H. Herbold. Survivors include his wife Bobbie Jean Herbold; sons, Henry Sam Herbold and wife Brenda, Jimmie Dale Herbold and wife Shirley and Gene Herbold and wife Patty; grandchildren, Dylan Herbold, Lois Elley and husband Chad, Lisa Bloch and husband Wesley, Jason Herbold and wife Tina, Jon Clyde Herbold, Cole Herbold and friend Ansley Pierce, and Jordan Herbold; great-grandchildren, Hunter, Jenefer, Ty, Brady, Chloe and Lily; brother, Leroy R. Herbold and wife Goldie; sisters, Nola Kleinschmidt, Lorene Schievelbein, Lucille Krenz and husband Calvin, Estelle Illhardt and husband Carl, Lydia Whitwell and husband John and Hazel Kutac and husband Kenneth; sisters-in-law, Ruth Herbold and Helen Herbold; brother-in-law, Billy Sam Stigall; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other loving family members. His loving grandchildren will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Kyle Gastring and Russell Falor. Memorial contributions may be made to Emanuel's Lutheran Church, 206 N.
