IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Ronald Lee
Christopher
April 15, 1942 – January 29, 2025
Ronald Lee Christopher, age 82 of San Marcos, passed away on January 29, 2025. Ronald was born in Tower Hill, Illinois on April 15, 1942 to Alice (Bradshaw) and Arthur Christopher.
Ronald Christopher lived a life of love to his wife Patricia. He fiercely and wonderfully protected, cared for and loved her. While they were only married just short of 7 years, they were the love of each other's life. Those who knew him were aware he could be challenging when he needed to get something done; however, that personality is exactly what was necessary to meet the challenges all elderly couples face. Being a former truck driver with more than 3 million miles under his belt it was always fascinating to ask him about driving in any state. He could remember street names, exit numbers - it was absolutely astounding in this GPS oriented culture we now live in. When they could physically attend church, Ron loved to attend The Country Church in Marion, TX and listen to Gospel music. Ron's interests include fishing, boating, flying (piloting) and reading. He has read approximately 8,000 books (not including all his tax and accounting books). WHAT A SPEED READER!!!!
We all know that the date April 15 is associated with "TAXES". Well, it also represents the date that our Broker of the Month of December, RON CHRISTOPHER, was born. Little did he know back then that "down the road" he would be the owner of his own Accounting and Tax firm.
Ron's long line of education started in a one-room country school near Tower Hill, Illinois where he had to walk approximately 3 miles each day to and from school. Once the school was closed, he transferred into the "BIG CITY" school at Tower Hill where he finished his grade school and high school education. It was such a "large" school that there were 13 graduates in "MOOSE'S" Senior Class! (a nickname he acquired in high school). While in high school, Ron was engaged in F.F.A. (Future Farmers of America). He was elected "Illinois State Farmer". After high school, Ron attended Brown's Business College, Lincoln Christian College, Millikin University, and Richland Junior College.
When asked what his favorite thing was in working with M.I.F.S., Ron replied that "the most impressive thing is the family ties that re-built within our group". He also stated that as in anything, "we all have to look through the bad to find the good".
Prior to his insurance affiliation, Ron worked for a large accounting firm. In 1983 he started his own financial firm and also worked as a Sales Representative for Investment Specialists. He then helped form M.I.F.S. Both of his sons worked with Ron in his financial firm.
Ron's most outrageous and secret desire is for an EARLY RETIREMENT at age 55. This was a goal that he had set and worked towards. He was just a few college credit hours away from obtaining his Master's Degree in Accounting and Taxation.
His is preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his loving wife, Patricia Y. (Stoffey) Christopher; sons, Carey and Craig Christopher; stepsons, Robert and Mike Swingler; stepdaughters, Bobbie Steele and Sharon Magos; brother, David Christopher; sister, Carolyn Christopher, numerous other family members and friends.
Private service will be held at a later date.
