Obituary

Chief Master Sergeant, Ronald "Ron" Leslie LaBree, Air Force Retired, passed away peacefully on May 30, 2021.

Ron was born May 28, 1935 in Guilford, Maine, to Maude Leslie (Sawyer) and John Edwin LaBree.

Ron attended Piscataqueis Community High School where he was active in basketball, baseball, track, cross country, FFA and yearbook staff. After graduation, he attended Husson College. He then joined the Air National Guard, and later, the United States Air Force, where he proudly served 30 years and earned the Bronze Star for Meritorious Service in Viet Nam.

After retiring from the Air Force, he worked at Savings of America as a bank manager, then retiring once again after 14 years.

Ron then went on to driving a school bus for Marion ISD, in Marion, Texas and then working for the Bandit Golf Course in New Braunfels.

Ron loved playing golf and traveling around the United States and Canada with his wife, Jo, as co-pilot, in their motorhome.

Ron is preceded in death,  by his parents; daughter, Lynn; son in law, Steve Salicos; infant grandson, Freddy Chilicas and infant great granddaughter, Shelby Grace. Also preceding him in death, sisters in law, Barbara LaBree, Louise Kelley, Dixie Pedersen-Haberkorn; brothers in law Paul & Rex Sanderson, and Maynard Atwell.

He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years Cleva Jo Sanderson LaBree; daughters, Carla Jean Kutz (Hamilton), Louise Nevelle Chilicas, Julie Kathleen Wiedner (Royce), Rhonda Salicos (Steve).

Grandchildren, Danielle Sosa (Tony), Justin Kutz, Shawn Chilicas (Kristen), Erica Ferry (Paul), Micheal Wiedner (Amber), Whitney Wiedner, Cassie Branton (Kevin). Fur-grandbabies, Dakota & George Salicos.

Great grandchildren, Emily Sosa Tidwell (Micheal), Sara Sosa, Hanna & Ryleigh Kutz, Bree & Arianna Chilicas, Tyler, Caleb & Taylor Wiedner, Jaydean, Aracelly, Tristan & Samuel Ferry, Wyatt, Kandyn, Kabri, Kinzie, & Kash Branton, and baby Chilicas due in December.

Ron is also survived by his brother, Raymond; sisters, Laurel Cover (John), and Malorie Ball (William). Sister in law, Ruth Atwell, Brothers in law, Jack Sanderson (Pat) and Rueben Kelley; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to THANK the Frank M. Tejeda Texas State Veterans Home in Floresville, Texas, for the wonderful care and love during this difficult time. They were truly a blessing to our family!

A private family service will be held at a later date.
