Rosa Lee Gotthardt, age 87 of New Braunfels, formerly of Seguin passed away on October 21, 2010. Memorial service will be held on Tuesday, October 26, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at Faith Lutheran Church with Pastor Tim Bauerkemper officiating. A reception will follow in the Activity Center. Enichment will follow later in the Faith Lutheran Church Columbarium. Rosa Lee was born on May 18, 1923 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana to Henry Lee and Effie Coreene Hayes Crook. She was raised in Mississippi where she met and married William Clyde Campbell, Jr. and gave birth to two children. After divorcing her first husband, she began working for a cosmetics company selling to HEB Grocery Company where she met and married her lifelong companion and love Edward C. Gotthardt. They were married in a civil ceremony in front of a justice of the Peace in Jackson, Mississippi, June 17, 1958. During their 52 years of marriage, they followed Edward's employment as he went from produce manager to corporate Vice President in charge of produce marketing for HEBCO formerly known as H.E. Butt Grocery Company. After a 38 year career with HEBCO, Edward would enter public service as Mayor of Seguin, Texas. Together they would endeavor to improve the City of Seguin, especially the Silver Center. They also pursued philanthropic endeavors through Edward's long affiliation with the Masonic Order. They were both affiliated with the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter #555 in Seguin, where Rosa Lee was the worthy matron during 1992-1993. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Edward C. Gotthardt, her parents, and her sister Eugenia Alberta (Crook) Reed. She is survived by her sister Effie Coreene (Crook) Bohrnsen; son, Roy L. Campbell, Sr. and wife Sandy; daughter, Reenie Sidna McHann; stepson, Mills Paul Gotthardt and wife Cindy; grandchildren, Roy L. Campbell, Jr.and wife Maria, Todd Miller, Sherry Graves and husband Bryan, Misty (Gotthardt) Blake and husband Justin, Adam Gotthardt and wife Krista, and Tina L. Gotthardt; great-grandchildren, Sage Keys, Desi Norman, Corey Miller, Barbie Campbell, Ava Graves, Scarlett Graves and Preston Blake; numerous nieces and nephews and other loving family members. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be members of the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter #555. The family would like to thank the Eden Hill staff and entire community for their exceptional love and care. Ed said it best "There will never be another Rosa Lee".
