Roy George Davis, age 82 of Seguin, passed away on February 27, 2011. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 1, 2011 from 12 to 6 p.m. with the family receiving friends from 4 to 6 p.m. at Tres Hewell Mortuary. Memorial services will be conducted on Wednesday, March 2, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Faith Lutheran Church with Pastor Walt Fruehling and Pastor Jim Price officiating. A reception will follow in the LEC at Faith Lutheran. Private interment will be held at a later date. Roy was born on January 4, 1929 in San Antonio, Texas to Roy Burrel Davis and Lena Emma Stuebing. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. While in the serving in the army in San Antonio, Texas he met Ella Lemke and married her on May 7, 1953. They lived in San Antonio, Corpus Christi, and Seguin. He retired from Southwestern Bell. He was instrumental in installing security systems in the community. He is a member of Faith Lutheran Church and was a member of the Lions Club. Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Ella Lemke Davis; brothers, Norman Davis of Poulsbo, Washington and Larry Joe Davis of Las Vegas, Nevada; sisters, Betty Jean Boone of Upland, California, Mary Lou Roe of Russelville, Arkansas and Ruth Ann Spaulding of Pieoche, Nevada; nephew, Wayne Lemke of Luling; nieces, Cathie Lemke Brian and husband David of Dodge City Kansas and Joan Lemke Ortner of Burleson, Texas; great-niece, Lisa Ortner of Burleson, Texas; great-nephew, Derek Ortner and wife Angie of Parker, Colorado; great-great nephew, Grayson Ortner of Parker, Colorado; numerous other relatives and friends.
