Roy "David" Rajac Pope was born January 3, 1959, in Paris, Texas to William Rajac and Dorothy Jean Brothers Rajac. David is survived by his two brothers Jimmy Rajac and Billy Pope and his two sisters Sandra Longinotti and her husband John, Patricia Miller and her fiancé, Gary Long.  His nephew Mark Miller, Jr. and niece Misti Miller and his great nephew, Brandon Miller, as well as many cousins.  David has one brother who has passed before him, Charles Rajac.

David was a Christian man and believed in God.  He was adventurous and loved many things. He was very passionate about fishing and was always looking for a place to fish.  He enjoyed talking about "the big ones" he caught or "the ones that got away".  Being near the water was his happy place and he enjoyed being outdoors and in nature.  David was a carpenter and painter by trade but also a very talented artist creating paintings, drawings and craft items. David also took on the talent of sharpening scissors for barbers and hairdressers.  David took lessons to learn how to fly small planes and loved to talk about it. He always enjoyed helping others and would do so even when unasked.  He was a humble man and appreciated the simple things in life.  He was always grateful and thankful for any gifts or kindness extended to him.  He loved animals of all kinds and had a fondness for the stray animals he ran across and would feed them before feeding himself.   He loved to play chess and was always a good sport, laughing and welcoming a rematch when he lost a game.  His smile, quick wit and sense of humor will be missed. David left this world and went to be with his savior on October 23, 2024 at 12:37 a.m. He has left a void in the hearts of those that loved him dearly.

His favorite bible verses consisted of the book of Proverbs Chapter 3 Verse 11-12, Chapter 16 Verse 24 and Chapter 23 Verse 18.  David always believed kindness to others was important and would one day be returned to you.
