Ruben Hernandez, Sr., age 70 of Geronimo, passed away on December 16, 2020.  Ruben was born on August 18, 1950 in Seguin, Texas, to Sarah (Ramos) and Valerio Hernandez, Sr.  He worked all his life as a contractor in the construction industry.  He enjoyed fishing and deer hunting.  However, his most favorite times, were barbequing for all his family and friends, making many great memories for all.

Ruben is preceded in death by his wife Laura Lee Hernandez, his parents, brother, Valerio "Chuche" Hernandez, Jr., and his sister, Mary Young Rodriguez, brothers-in-law, Francisco Gonzalez, Johnny Garcia and Joe Young.  Survivors include his children, Ruben Hernandez, Jr. and wife Sylvia, Janal Hernandez and husband George, and Robert Hernandez and wife Danette; grandchildren, Ruben Hernandez, III and wife Meredith, Lucas  Gil and fiancé Jordan Krebb, Madelynne Gil, Matthew Gil, Alexis Haney, Ethan Hernandez and Gavin Hernandez; great-grandchildren, Rhett Cecil Hernandez and Harper Lee Gil; siblings, Abelardo Hernandez and wife Mary, Alice Garcia, Arturo Hernandez, Esther Gonzalez, and Rosalinda Esquivel and husband Guadalupe; sister-in-law, Nadine Gutierrez Hernandez; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other loving family members and many friends.

A celebration of life service honoring Ruben will be planned in the future.
