Obituary

Ruby Zoboroski, age 100 of Seguin, passed away on December 4, 2013. Visitation will begin on Friday, December 6, 2013 at 10 a.m. at Tres Hewell Mortuary Chapel followed by funeral services at 11 a.m. with Rev. Paul J. Zwarich and Pastoral assistant Donna Lou Zipp officiating. Due to inclimate weather private interment will be held later at Guadalupe Valley Memorial Park. Ruby was born on January 4, 1913 on the farm in Guadalupe County to Arthur and Lydia (Wishkaemper) Boecker. She graduated from Seguin High School in 1930 and was the last surviving member of her class at the age of 100 years. Ruby was preceded in death by her parents, a brother Elmar "Skeeter" Boecker and sister, Luciel Schulze. Her first husband, Otto Ermel and second husband, William Zoboroski also preceded her in death. Ruby spent her entire life in Seguin, Texas where she worked at various jobs. She was a clerk at Blumberg Bros., then Baenzigers' Model Market and Max Rank Plumbing. After marrying William Zoboroski she helped at the Oak which William and his father owned. Later Ruby and William opened Zoboroski Insurance Agency. Ruby was a member of Emanuel's Lutheran Church and Seguin Hermann Sons Lodge where she served as an officer and loved helping on bingo nights. Ruby loved to dance and was still dancing at the Kingsbury Opry at age 90. Ruby is survived by nieces, Gloria Winters, Faye Huebner, Marjorie Alexander and Dorothy Wille; special god son, Lonnie Zoboroski and other nieces, nephews, and cousins.
