MSgt. Rufus Leon "Rudy" Knowles, USAF (Ret.), age 78, of Seguin, passed away on March 26, 2017. A memorial service will be held on Sunday April 2, 2017 at 3 p.m. at Forest Hills Baptist Church in Seguin with Rev. Stephen Stanford officiating and Full Military Honors under the auspices of the United States Air Force and the Guadalupe County DAV Chapter 61. Private interment will take place at a later date. Rudy was born on July 30, 1938 in Christiansburg, Virginia to Thomas P. and Mary (Harris) Knowles. He is preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, David Knowles and Thomas W. Knowles. Survivors include his loving wife of 39 years, Gail Knowles; sons, Steve Knowles, Russ Knowles, Tony Barker and Greg Barker; 4 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, other loving family members and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Forest Hills Baptist Church, 8251 FM 1117, Seguin, Texas, 78155.
