Ruth J. Owen, age 82 of Seguin, passed away on August 1, 2010. Visitation will be held at Tres Hewell Mortuary on Tuesday, August 3, 2010 from 2 to 7 p.m. with the family receiving friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, August 4, 2010 at 10 a.m. at Tres Hewell Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Nick Hart and Rev. Tom Jones officiating. Interment will follow in Concrete Cemetery. Ruth was born on May 27, 1928 in Seguin, Texas to Hardy and Ida Mae Darling Phillips. She is preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Carol Owen, son, Roger Dale Owen, her parents and her brothers and sisters, Jr. Phillips, Glen Phillips, Wilburn Phillips, Garland Phillips, Lucille Reneau and Lola Elley. Survivors include her daughters, Betty Jo Marshall and husband John and Barbara Jean Barsch; sons, Robert Owen and wife Shirley, Richard Owen and wife Trish and Charlie B. Butler; brother, Clifford Phillips; sisters, Beulah Walpole and Bernice Bergfeld; 11 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren;numerous nieces and nephews.
