Samuel Houston Evans, Jr., age 71, passed away on September 21, 2013. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 24, 2013 at Tres Hewell Mortuary from 5 to 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 25, 2013 at 10 a.m. at Tres Hewell Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Jim Price officiating. Interment will follow in the Lockhart Municipal Burial Park. Sam was born on May 10, 1942 in Lockhart, Texas to Samuel Houston Evans, Sr. and Estelle Inez Thompson Evans McGlothin. He is preceded in death by his son Samuel Houston Evans III, his daughter Georgia Jones, his parents and several siblings. Survivors include his wife, Bonnie Evans; children, Pamela Evans, Tammy Grabarkievtz and husband Chris, Samantha Lange, Cynthia Browning and husband Gabe, Jerry Evans, Bridget Evans and husband Morgan Lambeck, Steve Cole and James Lynne Cole and wife Traci; siblings, Ruth Ellen Dossey, George (Doug) Evans and wife Marlene, Rose Richbourg and Mary Frances Bass; 24 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Sam touched many lives and he will be missed by his many loving family members and friends.
