Sandra (Sandy) Delone Funk Hardcastle, age 79 of Seguin, passed away on April 4, 2017. A service celebrating her life will be Monday, April 17 at 10 a.m. at Hillcrest Church led by Rev. Mike Rodriguez. Sandy was born in Portland, Oregon and raised in San Marcos, Texas, a graduate of San Marcos High School where she was a cheerleader. Sandy pursued a career as a certified beautician and devoted countless hours in children's ministries over many decades. She enjoyed painting and making crafts, traveling, reading, and spending time with family at the Frio River and retirement home in Seguin, Texas on the Guadalupe River.

While in San Marcos, she met the love of her life, Ken Hardcastle, a student of Texas State University. Sandy and Ken celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on December 26, 2016.

Sandy was a compassionate friend to many who now attest to her positive influence in their lives. Her home was filled with faith, love, laughter and good times with many friends and extended family members. She was an avid fan of the playful otters at the California and Oregon aquariums, bird watching as well as old movies, game shows and cooking competitions.

She will be greatly missed by her husband Ken Hardcastle of Seguin, and by her children, April and son-in-law, Randy Canik, Kendy and son-in-law, Terrell Gravett, Mike Hardcastle, Jill and son-in-law, David Wilhelm; nine grandchildren, Jordan and Cameron Canik, Brendan and Britney Gravett, Caleb, David and Nathan Hardcastle, Joshua and Katie Wilhelm; great granddaughter Amber Canik. She is also survived by her brother Jerry and sister-in-law, Sue Funk of San Antonio.

The family would like to thank the caregivers at Remarkable Healthcare and all of the church members and supportive friends and family members who visited and encouraged her in recent years.
