Saphrona "Toni" Preece Fowler, age 81 of Seguin, passed away on February 8, 2018. A memorial service celebrating her life will be held on Friday, February 16, 2018 at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Seguin, with Rev. Dr. Brice Mandaville officiating. Private interment will be held at a later date. Toni was born on April 8, 1936 in Uvalde, Texas to William Sherman and Sarah Elizabeth (Perkins) Preece. After retiring as a nurse, Toni spent many years volunteering at both the Guadalupe Regional Medical Center and the Battered Women's Shelter, the latter of which she served as a volunteer coordinator. She enjoyed being a member of both the Red Hat Society and the Silver Needles. Toni was an active member of First Baptist Church in Seguin, where she participated in both Sunday school and Bible Studies and many social activities. Toni is preceded in death by her son, Marlon Edward Fowler, Jr. daughter-in-law, Mabel Bates Fowler, granddaughter, Courtney Breanne Winningham and her brothers, Walter Glen Preece and William Martin Preece. Survivors include her loving children, Susan Lanell Deagen and husband Mitchell, Mary Dawn Gorzell and husband Larry Sr., Sarah Beth Fowler and Tracy Sherman Fowler and wife Kathleen; sister, Mary Loretta Tomerlin; 17 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, other loving family members and many friends. Memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church, 1314 E. Cedar, Seguin, Texas, 78155 or to the charity of one's choice.
