Sarah Ruth McGee, age 90 of Seguin, passed away on May 29, 2009. Visitation will be held on Monday, June 1, 2009 at Tres Hewell Mortuary from 12 to 7 p.m. with the family receiving friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 2, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at First United Methodist Church with Pastor Steve Purdy and Rev. Linda Montgomery officiating and Eastern Star rites under the auspices of Seguin Chapter #555 Order of the Eastern Star. Interment will follow in Guadalupe Valley Memorial Park. Sarah Ruth was born on March 7, 1919 in LaPryor, Texas to John and Carrie Christian. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Seguin Chapter #555 Order of the Eastern Star and the Nekodah Temple #44 Daughters of the Nile. She retired from AT & T (formerly Southwestern Bell) after 36 years of devoted service. Her husband Kermit McGee precedes her in death as does her five brothers and sisters. Survivors include her son, Michael L. McGee and wife, Annette; granddaughter, Ashley Payton and husband, Ryan; numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends. Serving as pallbearers will be John Beckett, Jeffrey Gibbs, Jim L. Hafer, Ryan Payton, Bart Sutton and Bass Sutton. Memorial contributions may be made to First United Methodist Church, 710 N.
